Day One

I'm soooooo tired.  Two shows back to back.  Believe it or not, once upon a time, I did this every week.  I have day one down at Kane County.  Between the intense sun streaming through the window, and me moving a little too fast, I never really got a good shot of my booth.  Again, things were going before I was properly set up.  Actually, I don't think I was ever properly set up.

I have one iron rose fence panel left.

Frames were popular.

Two customers loved my large gold leaf metal roses and wheat.  They bought bundles.  I used them as hand models.

I had them sprinkled around, but they didn't stay displayed very long.  I think I have one left.  Yes, I sold my steel table in the background, and the large barrel.

How do you like my vintage birdies.

My chair when quick, and I could have sold it many times over.  It had a dark finish.  I gave it an aged cream finish, and left the original upholstery.

Every shot I had with my vintage black wicker hamper was horrible, so here is a pic I took before we loaded.  I love the feet.

That's all I have time for.  I'm taking a few additional items tomorrow.  Gotta get some rest.  One more day to go.

  1. Wow, it makes me to drool to see all the gorgeous stuff you have for sale!!!

  2. Looks like a great showing...good for you!! I love chairs but they aren't selling and where my consignment shop is sent them back as they weren't selling and not enough room....
    Good job!

  3. I am drooling right along with you Victoria!, I love every single thing that I see on here. Every single thing. Every single time!!

  4. You deserve every success, Rosemary. Such lovely things you've collected and made and you must be working non-stop. I'm in awe!

  5. I'm drooling Rosemary! I especially love that iron gate, and those vintage birdies, oh my gosh!! You displayed everything beautifully also. So glad you did well. Now take a little rest. :)
    Blessings & hugs,

  6. Do take care, drink water. You have my got my nurse self wanting to be sure you do not exhaust your self. It is so hot here I almost became dehydrated while going to about 50 yard sales yesterday. So I have to listen to myself too. I love that black wicker piece. I have a similar one I dug out of the trash. I have no shame. hugs, olive

  7. I love that you got those gals to be hand models for your photos. That's so fun. Glad things are going so well for you, but I agree that you need to make sure you're taking care of yourself. Big hugs.

  8. You must be exhausted, Rosemary! I love that you share these shows with us. Even with all the work and hours you put into it, I'd love to do one myself one day. I passed on a lot of furniture pieces I saw at the community garage sale here that I would have snatched up if I had a booth or did shows. I just have nowhere to store them for any period of time.

  9. Happy that the show is going so good for ya!!! You have some really nice items in your inventory.

  10. Oh your things are all so beautiful! Thanks for sharing them,

  11. Rosemary I am so happy that your sale went well; I know how much work you put into them!!

    Adore the vintage birds...

I have featured an Interview on my site with Tina from The Enchanted Home...

  13. Rosemary I agree with Anne, not surprised one bit that things went quick! So happy for you!!

  14. That's a good problem to have.....selling things before you can get properly set-up! I wish I lived near there so I could come to your show. I adore the frames and the chair that you sold!

  15. I didn't realize we were from the same area! I have actually never even been to the Kane Country Fair, I hope to go soon though, I'll keep an eye out for you!! I'm just starting out selling my furniture and have been thinking about selling at the fair. But I've been so busy with client's furniture that I haven't had time to get my own stuff done!

  16. your house must have fabulous furniture and decor in it, I couldn't sell any of that stuff unless I had more at home

I would love to have the iron rose fence piece . but how would I get it here ? someday I will shop your stuff in person

glad you had a great day one

  17. Everything looks gorgeous - no wonder you are selling tons!
