An Angel Gets Wings

As you know, I've been making angel wings.

The angel you see here, had no wings.

I decided to use one of the wings I made recently.

I screwed it into the back of my wingless angel.  I also added a hanger.

Layers of paint unifies it.

Metal Angel Wings

I've been going through my stash of salvaged metal.

I seem to be in a metal cutting mood, and, what I've been creating mostly, are angel wings.  I drew a template, and, cut each piece by hand.

The fleur-de-lis embellishments I added are salvaged pieces.  Honestly, I can't remember where I got either of them.  The abyss is endless.

These wings have no embellishment, but, they have a fun pattern.

Oh, yes.  I'm still easing along with my Christmas decor, and, keeping things simple.

A little bit at a time.

See ya soon.

Getting The Christmas Out

I've been getting the Christmas decor out, and, playing with glitter.

The little Christmas sign is a salvaged piece of wood.  I painted it white, stamped on the message, and, gave it a dusting of spray glitter.  The edges are sprinkled with the same glitter I used on the angel wings.

I cut the angel wings out of chipboard, painted them white, and, sprinkled on a bunch of vintage glitter.

I picked up the glitter at an estate sale a long time ago, and, never used it until now. I sealed it with spray.  So, the glitter stays put.

It was hard to capture the true shimmer in these photos.

Honestly, I'm taking my time decorating.  I took this photo of my tree, and, I've already changed it.

No rush, rush.  No hurry, hurry.

I'll be have fun decorating, and, share more photos soon.

I Needed The Rest

I've been curling up on the couch, and, sleeping a lot these past few days.  I REALLY needed the rest.

As soon as I completed the last day of my show, it all hit me.  I was officially exhausted.

So, lots of doing nothing for a few days was in order.

However, I thought I would stop doing nothing, and, share a few pics.

I'm grateful for customers, old, and, new, who came out to shop.

My friend Rhonda, and, I did well.  However, we both found ourselves drained.

My days on the couch helped tremendously.

I will be focusing on appointments, custom pieces, and, my Etsy for the rest of the year.  No more shows till 2015.

I can also get back to a somewhat normal blogging routine.

See ya soon.

and, funky crowns.

I also have ornate metal angel wings in the making, and, a lot more.

Looking forward to seeing all my local customers, November 20th, and, 21st.

I'm super busy, but, I'll try to share more before the show, and, pics of my booth.

Unicorns and A Pop Up Market

With all the purging I've done over the last year, you'd think I would have gone through every nook and cranny in The Abyss (aka my garage).

Yet, I came across this vintage wallpaper I purchased at an estate sale years ago.

Yes, I forgot I had it, but, I'm so glad it surfaced.  Look at the snowflakes.

This is just perfect for a few Christmas projects I'm working on.

Oh, yes.  Mark your calendars.   I'll, once again, be a vendor at the Hunt and Gather Market, in Crown Point, IN.

As you can see, it will be on November 20th, and, 21st.  The 21st is my birthday.  So, to all my locals who will be attending, don't forget the cake.

Just kidding.  Sorta.

Fleur-de-lis Ornaments

Here's another variation on my salvaged metal ornaments.

I'm making fleur-de-lis ornaments.

They're painted a soft white, with a bit of vintage script transferred to the surface, and, a metal fleur-de-lis adhered to the center.

I followed with a dusting of glitter.

I punched a hole for a cord, and, seam binding.

I'm making a bunch for my show next month, and, listing a few on Etsy.

More Glittery Metal

I'm having lots of fun making these glitter dusted metal ornaments, and, hangers.

I can't tell you how many pieces of salvaged metal I have.  I mean, I "really" can't tell you.

Occasionally, I sell some of my miscellaneous pieces.  However, more often than not, I stare at them until inspiration strikes.

After seeing one of my glittery metal ribbons, one of my FB friends, wanted to know if I could turn them into wreath, or, stocking holders.

Yes.

I decided to use just one ribbon for the hooks.

Okay, I have more metal to cut, assemble, paint, and, glitter up.  I'm getting requests, I have to list some in my Etsy, and, I have to have some available at my shows next month.

I'd better get back to work.

See ya soon.
