Show Break

Just a quick post to let you know, I have decided to take a show break in June.  So, I will  not be at Kane County next weekend.  Instead, I will be selling by appointment, and having another three day sale.    So, I'm taking a deep breath and playing with my dried flowers and vintage bottles, before the madness begins.

This sale is not an impromptu one.  We're placing an ad today, and I already have several appointments scheduled.  Many of my customers prefer to come out by appointment. Less hectic than a show.

Last weeks impromptu sale motivated me to do this.  Although I moved a lot of excess, we've been hunting and gathering, and will be picking up more over the weekend.  We also have sources we will be shopping during the week.  It's that time of year.  I know the abyss will be full again.  However, it will be full of my focused finds, and some items I've decided to part with.  There is only so much I can take to a show, but I can go nuts selling from home.

My goal is to keep the abyss organized.  I have so many endeavors coming up.  I have to stay focused.

The next week is going to be a super busy one.  I'll be sharing along the way.  If you live in or around the Illinois area, and would like to stop by, send me an email.

Hmmmm, is this really a break?  See ya soon.

  2. Rosemary,
Sounds like this will work out so much better. And you don't have to spend extra money on gas to do shows. That can add up.It costs enough just driving around looking for things.Have a great weekend.

  5. I think it sounds great, Rosemary! You are still selling yet I think it's less stressful with your doing it from home right now. Plus, I think it's good to organize and assess what you've got and what you want to get to be ready for the next show when it is time. Have a relaxing weekend! : )

  13. It sounds like a good idea to take back control of your life by slowing things down a bit and doing things at your own pace for a change. I am always conscious of that with my life because of having a history of putting too much on my plate and burning out. I prefer a much slower pace now! Good luck to you on your "sale by appt." I'm sure it will be a success.

  14. Too funny! We had a big sale at the shop last weekend and all the getting ready, setting up, loading and unloading is so much work! I plan to have a sale here at my house too, just have to get more organized.....still buying more stuff too! Aren't we vintage addicts a funny sort! LOL! Good Luck with the sale!

  18. YOu have quite a following~! Must be nice to know when buyers are coming, so then you can pace yourself. Enjoy the weekend Rosemary!

  19. I can see the attraction of appointments and having the buyers come to you, instead of travelling around. But, yes, I don't think this qualifies as a rest, Rosemary!

Oh, and, those are your pink roses? They look really beautiful dried. A big bowl of them would make wonderful potpourri. Do you know what kind of roses they are?
