Breadboards and Vintage Handles

In my last post, I shared some of the salvaged wood breadboards I've been making.  I also said I would let you know what I decided to do with the vintage wood handles I picked up at an estate sale a while ago.

They'll all be serving as handles for some of my breadboards.

I just finished this one.

I'm also working on various round designs.

This piece was cut from a vintage tabletop whose legs were broken off.  I knew I could make use of the wood.  Cut, sanded, and, given a food safe finish.

This next one sold right away on Etsy.  I almost kept it.  However, I'll be making more with the same overall design.

Obviously, I'm still in a woodworking mood.

See ya soon.

  1. You are a genius, Rosemary! I love that you used an old tabletop to create a cutting board. Love the round shaped one. And those handles are perfect!

  2. Rosemary,
That's a really clever and cool reuse for the handles. Love your cut out breadboards from salvaged wood.
I'm posting tonight and showing your urn silhouettes, check them out later. Oh Rosemary I am so enjoying all the wonderful cuts outs you made.

  3. I love the different patinas on theses. Each tells a story. Great use of the handles you scored.

  4. How great is this, I'll keep my eye on this

  6. I ADORE that round board. You are so good at making these. I would have never thought it was even possible.

  7. Rosemary, your imagination and creativity never cease to amaze me! Your breadboards are great! Functional and decorative! Love the use of the old handles too! Hope all is well! Hugs, Leena

  8. Oh! These are also great!! You'll surly sell them soon!!
I'm gonna see if I can find the special sealer here in Spain.
    Have a good week

  9. There is little I like more than a great upcycling story. Your handles for breadboards = genius. Love it!

  10. These are beautiful, Rosemary! And you are always working so hard!
