Christmas Joy Heart

I'm loving the look of my Christmas heart ornament.

I picked up about seven wooden hearts at an estate sale a while ago.

After sanding them a little, I used a homemade stain recipe from the Farragoz course.  Yes, you can learn how to make your own stain as well as gesso, and paint.

I mixed up a dark brown stain for the base, and followed with layers of dark grey, light grey, and two shades of white homemade gesso.

The word "Joy" was stenciled with the same dark grey you see underneath.  You can see the layers of color, and the details in these close ups.  All it took was a little distressing with a sanding pad.  I love the way the homemade paint crumbles.

I added a sprig of spruce, and a wire for hanging.  Simple, with a touch of history.

I'll be making more.

If you'd like to find out more about the Farragoz online painting course, and the Special Discount Farragoz and I have going on right now, click HERE.

I'm finally getting the Christmas decor out, adding touches here and there.  My angel got crowned.

I'll be sharing more Christmas soon.

This is not a paid post.  FARRAGOZ has enrolled me in their course to give an honest review.  All opinions are my own.  My decision to become a FARRAGOZ affiliate, , was based on my impression of the course.  As an affiliate, I receive compensation only if their is an enrollment through my site.
