I've been using vintage postcards as art for years. Or, should I say, reduced and enlarged copies of vintage postcards. I always keep my original intact.
The images look beautiful surrounded by my "Old World" finish. Like the piece in my tutorial.
I unearthed this ornate metal frame from the garage. Yes, I forgot I had it. I gave it my "Old World" finish, and made a color copy of my guardian angel postcard (seen above). I copied it onto soft gloss photo paper. I enlarged the copy slightly to fit the frame, and bonded it to heavy card stock.
I think they make a great combo. So, I changed the vignette on my little mantel again. My repurposed lamp parts are on either side.
My friend Joy at savvycityfarmer, calls my garage, "the abyss". It's true. I'm going back in today. I'll be sharing what I discover. See ya soon.
