More Vignettes

I've been playing with vignettes all day.  I brought in some of my urns I've had sitting outside.  I'm planning to use them in my Christmas displays and decor.  In addition to frames, I've also been giving lots of miscellaneous items from the garage the gesso treatment.

Another one of my favorite urns.  Love the figures.  A white wash with a little rubbing back can give you a soft weathered finish.

I'm already making more trivet plaques.

This little urn is holding one of several metal flowers I took off of a broken lamp.

The metal flowers here were taken from the base of a broken compote.  I love the patina, and I have more.

I purchased this angel at an estate sale as part of a group of figures.  I think she will be perfect for Christmas decor.  The frame in back is a perfect example of what I DON'T paint.  It's late 1800's with the original gilding.  Very festive, don't you think.

  39. Love the monochromatic nature of this vignette. Reminds me of snow (for the holidays). I think you need to gesso a Christmas tree now! That look achieved on a tree would be phenomenal with the rest of your decor.

  49. I love all your planters, but the one with the figures is my favorite. So shabby and pretty! Planters are so wonderful since you can do so much with them. I often put towels or magazines in ones I'm not using for plants.

Those metal flowers are lovely just like they are. Can't wait to see how you use them!
