Cute Little Things

I know a lot of you out there are experiencing the same kinda heat I am.  We've had a string of 100 plus days.  My garage (aka The Abyss) is not air conditioned, and a fan just does not cut it for me in this miserable weather.  So, other than bringing in boxes to go through, and taking a few quick photos, I've been hanging out inside, making cute little things.  I'm grateful for air conditioning.  My heart sincerely goes out to those of you without power.  I've experienced it before, but not for days and days like some of you.  Hang in there.

Prisms decoupaged with a section of a vintage blue ledger page are some of my projects.

I removed the bead, and replaced it with a vintage ribbon.

I've also been making tons of clay angel wings, and hearts. These wings are not quite done.

Since the same horrific weather is in the forecast for tomorrow, I think I'll be making more.

  8. Hi Rosemary! I know what you mean about the heat and trying to work in the Abyss, or as I call mine, the Evil Vortex! We've been in the upper 90's-100+ recently too and it's miserable! I'd love to paint outside but it's too humid. Can't get much gardening done either. Love your new projects - so cute! Stay cool, my friend! Hugs, Leena

  9. Bet those wings dry quickly in this heat. It is 81 here and we think we are dying. :) Us Oregonians aren't used to heat--and a lot of us don't have air conditioning! I love my wings. Looks like you are making some different styles--I'll have to check those out. They would look so adorable on a small Christmas tree!

  14. I feel for all of you. I live in the PNW so it's been cooler here and quite wet. It's just starting to get hot and sunny for a few days. I hope not as hot as all of you are coping with. My dogs and I hang out in the air conditioned bedroom - my oldest sick dog can't handle heat. Love what you're doing while it's too hot - they're so beautiful.

  18. Yay for air conditioning! Had my husband haul in a dresser I am working on. Sitting in a buggy garage for several hours in 90+ degree heat doesn't sound good to me either!

And how cute are those little baubles? I never would of thought of that, it gives them a whole new life.

  21. What a great idea with the prisms! So many possibilities using vintage papers, receipts, etc. -- looks like you'll be making LOTS more 'little things' since we're not supposed to see a break in this heat for another day or so!

  22. It's been so hot here too. Glad you were able to get a few quick projects done. The prisms and clay wings would make perfect tree ornaments.

  24. I hope it cools off for you so that you can get back into the abyss! We go through that kind of weather every day during the Summer, so I know that it's hard on you!

  28. Love the ornaments, I have a thing for them I took a bunch of prisms over the holidays last year and coated them with plasters paints, and then painted them with a wash of gray to give them a really old feelwmto them..

Thank you Rosemary for your beautiful visit, see you soon my friend.

  29. The Abyss, very appropriate. I've been having the same issue here, reaching 110 & have once again turned my dining room into my workspace. Oh, just when I got it back to normal. Well, production must go on I guess. Lol.
I love your clay tags. How creative to make them in the shape of wings! They would be so darling on a Christmas tree with some white lights.
As always, I love stopping in to see what's new with you & you never disappoint. Stay cool & thanks for sharing your beautiful baubles! *Pinned :)

  33. The little things he does. Does he text you in the morning just to say good morning? Does he call you during the day just to say hi? If he does, there is no doubt that he really likes you.

  34. They won't be very vocal about their feelings, but they will try to show as much as they possibly can. They will try to always be there when you need them.
