Colander of Roses and Rainy Days

It's been raining pretty much all week here, and today was no exception. No sunshine. I've been working in my studio.  My refreshed studio.  Like I said in my last post.  Time to reclaim it.

In between rain drops, I took a break from working to snip a few roses.  With all the rain, they're really thriving.

The box is a redesigned silverware box.  I gutted it,

gave it a few dry brush coats of paint, and added my angel.  I'm not finished with it though.  I have to add a little embellishment, and jazz up the interior.

Back inside, my vintage colander makes a nice vase.  Something pretty to look at while I work.

See ya soon.

  2. I will show this to my sister. She has a silverware box...she brought it to my shop but it hasn't been transformed yet. I like the idea of adding an image like you did. xo

  3. Just got a moment to go back and catch up on your last several posts. Seems you have had a ton of stuff going on over there!! Just having your son graduate and everything that goes along with that is enough, let alone holding up a blog, a business and life in general!

Love the colander...assuming you have some sort of glass container within the colander so those yummy roses have something to drink! lol Have a great week ahead!

  8. Love the box -- and also the way you arranged the roses in the colander. I almost feel like I do in the winter when I bring flowers inside -- LOL. Perks me right up on these chilly, rainy days!
