Dainty Duo

I love giving new life to small furniture finds. Lately, I seem to be finding them all over the place. I picked up these two this past week.

This is how they started out.

I liked the lines on both, but they needed more personality.

Since the caning was destroyed on the bench, I just removed it. I added a little more embellishment to the frame and decided on white for the finish.

This brought out the detail. I then made a cushioned top from plain grainsack material to which I applied one of my popular graphic designs.

After finishing the bench, I decided to use a similar design on the small table. I added baby roses and gave it the same paint treatment.

I then used the same graphic design on top.

I think they look nice together. A Dainty Duo!

My garage is loaded with a multitude of eager candidates for redesign. Check back soon!

  39. Ooooh, I'm gonna love visiting your blog regularly. This is my first visit and already you've given me some great ideas. I have to finish some pieces I already have but more will be coming. Problem is......I don't know what the heck I'm doing yet...... I guess I'll just plunge into it with some so-so pieces and make some mistakes before taking on nicer pieces. LOVE LOVE LOVE what you did with the bench and table.
