Urn Play

I have one remaining urn from a post I shared.

Recognize it?  It's the one in the middle.  The two handled urns sold right away.  As much as I liked the one on the left, I let it go.  I held onto this one, and wanted to give it a little more character, and depth.

The rusty base was the perfect start for what I had in mind.  I brushed and dabbed on a caramel color, followed by white with the same brush.  I just wiped the brush off a little with a rag, but didn't remove the first color completely.  I wanted the colors to blend into each other.  My application was sporadic.

I followed with a generous rub of dirt, and grass.  Yes, that mossy look was achieved by making a big clump of grass, and rubbing it on the surface. The finish compliments my dried hydrangeas.

Kinda stone-like now.
