Box Transformation

If you know me at all, you know some of my favorite things to transform, are boxes.  I even did a couple posts on box transformations a while back.  Well, here's one I just finished.

This is what it looked like before.

It had been painted over, the lock did not work, and, it wasn't, me.

I removed the top, and, used wood filler for the holes.

The handle is a metal piece I've had lying around for some time.  It was originally attached to a broken glass serving dish.  I believe it was in the free box at a garage sale.  I loved the ornate details, and, knew I'd find a use for it eventually.

After attaching the handle, I gave the entire piece a layered, grey, and, white, finish.

I made the metal "Paris" tag for the front.

Much better, don't you think?

Rose Heart

I'm still designing, and, utilizing my salvaged wood.

With this piece, I also added clay roses.  Yes, I made the roses.

It all started when I decided to cut a few hearts.  After cutting, and, painting, I just thought they needed something extra.

The clay roses were applied, and, I gave it a chippy finish.

I'm happy with it now.

I'll be bringing some to 3 French Hens next week.

Looking forward to seeing my locals.

Now, I have to get back to work.

"Vintage" Box

I took a break from fleur-de-lis designs, and, created this box with some of my salvaged wood.

Some cutting, nailing, painting, distressing, and, "vintage" lettering, produced a nice organizer.

I'm feeling better, but, still taking it easier than usual.  I simply cannot be sick for my upcoming show.

See ya soon.

Fleur-de-lis Chalkboard

I was a little under the weather for a couple days.  I think it was a combo of exhaustion, allergy, etc. Basically, I needed to slow down.

During that down time, I had another fleur-de-lis design idea.  A chalkboard.

I used the same basic design I used for my rectangular breadboard.

I shall have lots of fleur-de-lis designs at 3 French Hens next month.  Listing a few on Etsy too.

Actually, I'll have lots of French themed items period.  I'm about to do something fabulous with these French flower labels.  What? I'm not sure, but, it will be fabulous.

See ya soon.

Fleur-de-lis Clipboard

As long as I'm in wood cutting, salvaged wood, fleur-de-lis mode, why not a clipboard.

Making a bunch for the 3 French Hens French Country Market next month, and, Etsy.

Okay, back to work.

Small, Medium, and, Large

When I started making bread boards out of salvaged wood, I didn't know how many designs I'd come up with.  I went from the style of board you can review HERE, to what you see below.

I've been getting requests for various sizes of my fleur-de-lis bread boards.  My good friend Nancy thought a small board that could be used for simple little things, like slicing a lemon for your tea would be a good idea.

So, not only did I make this smaller version,

but, I've been making medium sizes as well.

So, now, I have four versions of my fleur-de-lis design.  Three round, and, one rectangle.

Every time I cut one of these, I get a new idea.

The other night, I was up sketching.  More designs are on the way.

If anyone wants me, I'll be in the garage, making lots of noise.

Round Fleur-de-lis Bread Board

Well, you saw the fleur-de-lis bread board I made in my last post.  Here's a round version.

It starts with a vision, a sketch on wood, and, a steady hand.

Rectangular,

or, round,

as you can see, I'm having lots of fun making them.

Fleur-de-lis Bread Board

I woke up with a vision, and, had to see it through.

As you know, I've been making bread boards.  Why not a fleur-de-lis handle?

Yes, I designed, and, hand cut this piece.  It started with a drawing on wood.  Then, I started cutting.

I think I actually jumped up and down when I finished.

Okay, I have more cutting to do.

Chippy Finds

Spring seems to have sprung here, finally.  With that comes the hunt for treasures, and, I always love a nice chippy find.

Both the chippy heart shaped iron finding, and, the piece below were found at the same estate sale.

Originally an outdoor grill, this would make a fabulous planter.

The best thing about these finds?  I don't have to do a thing to them.

Upcoming Shows, and, New Creations

Mark your calendars.  I'll be a vendor again at the 3 French Hens market in Morris, IL this year.

I've been selling lot's of breadboards, and, I'm so very grateful.  I'm in overdrive trying to keep my Etsy, and, local customers happy, and, set aside some for the market.

This is a fabulous market, with some of the best customers around.

Breadboards aren't the only things I've been working on.

Spring seems to have sprung, so, I've been out in the garage, cutting, and, designing.

I'm making damask wallpaper angel wings on board,

wood boxes, urns, book bundles, and, more.

Super busy, and, looking forward to the market season.  I'm planning a few sales as well.

One last note.  Please, if you have a question, and, you ask that question in my comments, make sure I can answer you.  If you are a NO REPLY, I can't answer your question.  Check out my old post, by clicking HERE, and I'll explain why.  If you're not sure, just send me a regular email.  You'll find it in my profile.
