Rusty White Crown

In my last post, I showed you one of my handmade crowns.  I originally planned to leave the rusty finish I gave it.  However, I just kept seeing something different in my head.

I decided to give my rusty crown,

a white finish, with some of the rust peeking through.

I'll probably make another rusty one, but, I had a vision I wanted to see through.

I like the results.

I'm also working on more of my smaller crowns, with a similar finish.

I'm in a crown making mood.

I'll be listing in my Etsy shop.

See ya soon.

Show and Shop Balance

Since I've re-opened by Etsy shop, I remember why it was a tad difficult to keep it stocked, and, prepare for my shows.

Because a good deal of what I sell is hand painted, handmade, redesigned, etc., it's quite time consuming.

Still, I've been trying to find a balance.

The last cherub angel I completed, sold at my last show.  This one will be going in my Etsy.

She'll be accompanied by lots of my numbered clothespins.

They've turned out to be one of my most popular items.

I'm also getting requests for some of my larger salvaged metal crowns.

I'm almost finished with this one, and, I'm customizing one for a customer.

I was a bit under the weather after my last show.

Now, after much needed rest, I'm feeling better, and, feeling quite busy.

I'm also busy finding balance.  Taking really deep breaths on a regular basis helps.

I'll keep you posted on upcoming shows.

See ya soon.

A Brisk Day at Three French Hens

My sales were brisk at the Three French Hens French Country Market, and, so was the weather. Brrrrrrrrrrr.

As a lifelong resident of Illinois, I've grown accustomed  to drastic temperature changes.  During the week, we had warm, rainy, humid weather.

The morning of the show, it was overcast, and, damp, with temps in the 30's.

Still, there were lots of smiles, and, jokes about the weather.

As you can see in this next photo, I gave my angel a crown.  I also jazzed up the large bottle, and jug.

My friend Traci (One of the Three French Hens) didn't leave my angel on display for very long.

I focused on small, portable items, and, I was grateful for quite a few sales.

Again, I shared a space with my friend Rhonda, who did a great job adding character to this chandelier.

The sun made it's way out towards the end of the show.

Thanks to all my regular customers, and, new ones.

Well, I'm beat.

See ya soon.

This angel will be there, along with lots of other items.  I'll share more photos later.

I just love the customers at this market.

See ya soon.
